Homosexuality

The Bible calls every person to holiness, including in matters of sexuality. The church must approach conversations about homosexuality with both truth and compassion—holding firmly to God’s design while extending His grace to all.

The Importance from a
Biblical Perspective

Scripture teaches that sexual intimacy was created by God to be expressed within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Any sexual expression outside of that covenant, including homosexual behavior, falls outside God’s design. However, every person is made in God’s image and is invited to experience forgiveness, transformation, and new life in Christ. The church’s role is not condemnation but restoration—walking alongside people in love and truth as they pursue obedience to God’s Word.

Key Scriptures:

  • Romans 1:24–27 – The distortion of sexuality when God’s truth is exchanged for lies.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:9–11 – The transforming power of the gospel for all sin.
  • John 8:11 – “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”
