Cohabitation

Cohabitation—living together as a couple outside of marriage—has become increasingly common, but it falls short of God’s design for covenant commitment. God calls His people to honor Him in purity, faithfulness, and obedience in every aspect of life, including romantic relationships.

The Importance from a
Biblical Perspective

Living together outside of marriage undermines the covenant framework that God established for intimacy and partnership. Marriage is not just a public declaration but a sacred covenant before God. When couples choose cohabitation, they miss the security, blessing, and spiritual unity that come from honoring God’s design. The church must lovingly call couples toward repentance, purity, and covenant faithfulness while offering support to help them align their lives with Scripture.
